Monitoring integration missing cluster nodes

I've run through the integration job on the SCVMM 2012 R2 Console and we now have PRO tip integration with SCOM 2012 R2, however of our 4 Hyper-V clusters, 3 of them appear to be "missing" nodes.

Cluster 1 (2-node Windows Server 2012 R2) - Both have appeared in the Agents Health State Dashboard and PRO tips are working.

Cluster 2 (6-node Windows Server 2008 R2) - Nodes 1,2,4,5 & 6 have appeared in the Agents Health State Dashboard and PRO tips are working on them.

Cluster 3 (3-node Windows Server 2008 R2) - Nodes 1 & 2 have appeared in the Agents Health State Dashboard and PRO tips are working on them.

Cluster 4 (4-node Windows Server 2012 R2) - Nodes 1,2 & 4 have appeared in the Agents Health State Dashboard and PRO tips are working on them.

All updates are installed, I have refreshed the integration however they continue to fail to appear. Any ideas?

VMM (2012 R2) PRO/Operations Manager Integration Requires Named Instance for SSAS -- Which is Great in a NOT Clustered Environment

This is my third or maybe 4th time posting this question... surely I can't be the only person that has run into this issue...

Subject more or less captures the essence of my question... I have a clustered SQL 2012 (SP2) environment that runs on 3 nodes (active-passive-passive), one of which runs Analysis Services. As I've come to learn (and likely everyone already knows) SSAS in a clustered configuration is _ONLY_ accessible using the hostname, FQDN, or VIP. Addressing the named instance results in a failure (I think this is partially a SQL browser bug as looking closely at the requests to SSAS using a named instance results in the browser issuing a bogus TCP port where no service is actually running). Additionally, not providing a named instance in the VMM console UI results in an error message:

Please enter SSAS instance name

Would greatly appreciate any guidance on this issue. Thank you.

Hi,

Still fail to integrated. Need a proper fixed solution on this. I searched a lots of forum still come through same resolution.

PRO feature of scvmm Error (10218)

Recently we have deployed the scom 2012 r2 with ur 4 and integrating with the scvmm 2012 r2 updated ur4 when we connect the PRO feature of scvmm we got the below error so kindly tell us the solution of it. We have already deployed the required MP on Operations Manager

Error (10218)

Setup could not import the System Center Virtual Machine Manager Management Pack into Operations Manager server because one or more required management packs are missing. The VMM Management Packs cannot be deployed unless the following component management packs are present in Operations Manager :

Windows Server Internet Information Services 2003,

Windows Server 2008 Internet Information Services 7,

Windows Server Internet Information Services Library,

SQL Server Core Library.

Recommended Action

To provide the missing component management packs, ensure that the following management packs have been imported into Operations Manager server:

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Internet Information Services Management Pack for OpsMgr 2012 (version 6.0.6278.0 or later)

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Pack(version 6.0.5000.0 or later)

Getting the following in a new implementation of SCOM 2012 R2 integrated with SCVMM 2012 R2.  Any help would be appreciated.  Every few hours 5 of these show up in the Ops Man console.

SCVMM 2012R2 Showing Error while configuring Storage Classification and Pool with Dell Compellent SMIS provider

Hi Team ,

I am using SCVMM 2012R2 with Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager . I added the Storage Provider(SMIS) in SCVMM which added successfully and showing under responding Green status. But When i am tried to define Classification and pool it gives me error. "Error (20406) VMM could not enumerate instances of class CIM_ReplicationGroup, failed with error
Recommended Action Ensure the provider is running, and then try the operation again.

Storage provider and SCVMM are on same subnet and windows firewall is in disabled state.

Please let me know if any one facing same problem.

VMM Agent Not Monitored By Operations Manager

I have installed UR5 for SCVMM 2012 R2 on my System Center servers and roughly 20 Hyper-V host servers.  Since then an alert stating that "VMM Agent Not Monitored By Operations Manager" is being reported in SCOM for 4 of the hosts.  I have tried putting the servers into maintenance mode from the SCOM console and removing them as I have heard that this can resolve the issue but without any luck.  Running the script suggested at http://www.systemcentercentral.com/research-kb-vmm-agent-monitored-operations-manager/ also returns no results suggesting that I don't have anything stuck in maintenance mode.  The VMM agent is up-to-date on all of the servers as is the SCOM agent.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could resolve this?

I am getting this alert when i run the Pro Tip implementation

Error (11825)
PRO tip implementation failed to start.

Recommended Action
Ensure that PowerShell remoting is enabled on Virtual Machine Manager management server and that the action account that Operations Manager uses has access to Virtual Machine Manager.

Adding SSAS to VMM 2012 R2 issues

During the installation of SCOM 2012 R2, I deployed 2 SQL Server Failover Clusters. On one of the SQL clusters I also installed reporting services and the operations manager report server. Now as I go to enable SSAS I am unable to add SSAS to the existing SQL cluster because it is not supported and I cannot make a new SSAS instance with the same name as the Report Server instance. Does anybody have an idea on how to work around this and either tell VMM where the report server is actually located or to add SSAS with the same instance name as the Report server? I am assuming this is the cause of the this error

Installed update roll up 6 on SCVMM 2012 R2 and received the below error after logging to console. When checked, the path exists on the server.

Has anyone seen the same error after updating to roll up 6?

SCOM 2012 R2 - SCVMM 2012 R2 Forecast reports issue

Hello

I've got a problem with getting forecast reports in SCOM 2012 R2 RU6 after integrating it with SCVMM 2012 R2 RU6. As SQL service I use MSSQL 2014 with SQL Reporting Services and SQL Analysis Services.

In generated report displays error "Subreport could not be shown". No any addition information or error id.

All deployment process was according to this article:

I've tested all possible versions of SQL Analysis Management Objects (2008R2, 2012, 2014), no one successful.

Did somebody faced same issue? And who knows what version of SQL Analysis Management Objects supported in SCVMM 2012 R2 RU6.

Cannot see "System Center settings" from settings pane

Hi,

We are following this KB article to setup SCOM integration with VMM.

However we could not see the "System Center Settings" option from the Settings pane in VMM console.  Is there anything need to be configured to enable this option?

Hello, A question regarding SCVMM/SCOM integration. Configured both SCVMM and SCOM. Tested all to verify that SCVMM objects show in SCOM Ops Console. Integrated SCOM with SCVMM in Settings/Operations Manager Server. Integration went

If clicking on the "Test Pro" in the properties of the Operations manager server in SCVMM, the Pro Tip diagnostic kicks off, the job runs and succeeds, and the Pro Tip window pops up and then remediates itself and closes.

Going into the SCOM operations console on the Root Management server, I can see in my workspace that the alert shows up and closes as expected.

So, what I did next was on a Hyper-V Cluster node, I ran a stress tool to peg all CPUs at 100%. I get critical alerts in SCOM that the Hyper-V host is running it's CPU's pegged.

But, A Pro Tip never shows in SCVMM saying for instance asking me if I want to remediate and move the VM that is on that Cluster node with maxxed our RAM to another cluster node.

Can anyone shed light on what I'm missing here? I've verified my steps by reading throughhttps://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh427287.aspx.

Hi ,

I have integrated the SCVMM 2012 R2 with SCOM 2012 R2 for the reporting, but while opening theCapacity Utilization,  i am getting below error.

UR7 has been applied on SCOM  2012 R2 and SCVMM 2012 R2. SQL Analysis configured in SCVMM , i have installed the SQL Analysis  on SCOM Reporting Instance (ON SCOM Server) and the database of SCOM and SCVMM is on Remote DB Server.

I am looking for solution about this issue.

Also where i can publish them to generate the Reports whenever required ?

Can i view  the IP of the VMs in VMs and services Workspace of SCVMM Console ?

SCVMM 2012 & SCOM 2012 integration error

The job completes successfully when running the initial connection. However after going back into the connection details on the VMM console I receive the following error

VMM Management group object cannot be found.
Operations Manager discovery failed with error: "Exception of type 'Microsoft.VirtualManager.EnterpriseManagement.Common.DiscoveryDataInvalidRelationshipSourceExceptionOM10' was thrown.".

VMM PRO or Dynamic Optimization based on low storage space

Hi All,

Simple question for the community since i forgot the feature : Can we use PRO to let VMM live migrate VMs if the VMs disks are located on a volume with low free space ?

Example :

  • I have a highly available VM, it VHD is located on CSV01
  • CSV01 space reaches a certain value (low space)

Can PRO trigger a VM migration to another volume with available space (CSV02)

VMM 2012 R2 CU 10 integration with SCOM 2012 R2

Hello,

i have a problem with VMM 2012 R2 integrating with SCOM analysis server.

I receive back error HTTP STATUS 400 : Not Found.

I have already try installing AMO 2008 R2 / 2012 R2 but the problem is still there.

Somebody have the same issue?
